1. Information We Collect
When you book a service, register an account, fill out a contact form, or use the in-app chat, we collect the personal information you provide directly, including: your name, email address, phone number, vehicle make/model/year, vehicle identification details (VIN or license plate if you choose to share them), service preferences, and any notes you write describing your concern.
When you pay a deposit through the website or app, we collect payment-card metadata (last 4 digits, brand, expiry) — your full card number is sent directly to our payment processor (Stripe) and is never stored on our servers.
When you use the iOS application, we may collect a device push notification token (an opaque identifier issued by Apple) so we can send booking confirmations and service reminders to your device. You can disable push notifications in iOS Settings at any time.
When you visit chapmanmobil.com or use the app, we automatically collect technical information: IP address, browser/app version, device type, pages viewed, referring URL, and crash diagnostics. This data is used to operate, secure, and improve the service.
2. How We Use Your Information
To schedule and deliver the auto repair services you book, including communicating booking confirmations, status updates, and post-service inspection reports.
To contact you about your inquiry, send transactional emails (welcome, booking confirmation, payment receipt, referral reward), and respond to requests for quotes.
To operate the referral program — we link new sign-ups to the referring customer so we can credit the wallet of the referrer when a booking is paid.
To improve the website and app — analyzing aggregate usage patterns, fixing bugs, and measuring page performance.
To comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service.
4. How Long We Keep Your Data
Booking records are retained for 7 years to support warranty claims, accounting, and California Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) recordkeeping requirements.
Account information is retained while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Contact form submissions are retained for 2 years.
Server logs are retained for 90 days, then aggregated and anonymized.
5. Your Rights
You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you at any time by emailing service@chapmanmobil.com.
You may request that we correct, update, or delete your information.
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing message. Transactional emails (booking confirmations, payment receipts) cannot be unsubscribed while you have active bookings.
You may disable iOS push notifications at any time in your iPhone Settings → Notifications → Chapman Mobil.
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA — see the section below.
6. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion of your information, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of your information (we do not sell personal information).
To exercise these rights, email service@chapmanmobil.com with the subject "CCPA Request". We will respond within 45 days.
We do not discriminate against customers who exercise their CCPA rights.
7. Security
All traffic between your browser/app and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher.
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt before storage. We never store passwords in plain text.
Database access is restricted to a small set of administrators and is logged.
Payment card data is processed directly by Stripe — we never see or store full card numbers.
We use industry-standard practices to protect data, but no system is perfectly secure. If we ever discover a breach affecting your information, we will notify you in compliance with applicable law.
8. Children's Privacy
Chapman Mobil services are intended for customers 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact service@chapmanmobil.com and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Material changes will be announced via email to registered customers and via a banner on the website.
